The Jammu Police have successfully solved a theft case and arrested the burglars involved, recovering valuables worth lakhs of rupees.

In a statement, the police spokesperson said, “On February 26, 2024, a widow lady named Farida Khan lodged a written complaint at Police Station Channi Himmat, stating that unknown thieves had broken into her house and decamped with valuables worth approximately Rs. 4.5 lakhs and cash amounting to Rs. 2,00,000.”
“Acting swiftly, a case FIR no. 25/2024, under sections 454/380 of the Indian Penal Code, was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat, and the police team, headed by Inspector Mohd Sadeeq Jatt, SHO Channi Himmat, and ICPP Sainik colony PSI Amreek Singh, constituted by Sheezan Bhat, SDPO City East Jammu, swung into action,” the spokesperson added.
Elaborating on the investigation, the spokesperson stated, “After generating human and technical intelligence, several suspects were rounded up and questioned. During sustained questioning, it came to light that two suspects, namely Akash Khushu, son of late Ashok Kumar, resident of Muthi Domana, and Javeed, son of Latief Mohammad, resident of Rahim Nagar Narwal Jammu, confessed to their involvement in the crime.”
“On their disclosure, gold items weighing about 70 grams and silver items weighing around 150 grams were recovered from different places from both the accused. Additionally, a scooty and an LED TV, purchased by the accused from the stolen cash, have also been recovered and seized in the instant case,” the spokesperson revealed. The police spokesperson commended the efforts of the investigating team, stating, “The police team, led by SHO Channi Himmat Mohd Sadeeq and assisted by PSI Amreek Singh, made the arrests and recoveries under the supervision of SDPO East Sheezan Bhat and SP South Ajay Sharma, and the overall supervision of Vinod Kumar, SSP Jammu.” The spokesperson expressed gratitude towards the people of Jammu for their words of praise and appreciation for the quick action and recovery of stolen items by the police, as well as the arrest of the thieves.
