In a troubling development, a Junior Engineer (JE) working in the Public Works (Roads & Buildings) department of a division in Poonch district stands accused of leveraging his official capacity for personal enrichment. Speaking on condition of anonymity with The Hidden News, sources shed light on the situation, stating, “The JE has not only compromised the quality of work but has also allegedly secured a substantial 50 percent share in major ongoing road construction projects and other divisional works.”
Furthermore, concerns have been raised regarding the JE’s prolonged tenure in the same position for the past seven years, seemingly circumventing standard transfer policies. “It appears that he doesn’t come under the transfer policy, which typically mandates a rotation every two to three years for public servants,” the sources added.
Reports indicate that the JE’s accumulation of wealth during his tenure is evident through ownership of luxury vehicles, including a luxrious SUV reportedly gifted to him by a contractor, engaged in road construction works over Rs 5 crores under the jurisdiction of the JE.
