The Jammu Police have apprehended Yasir Ahmead a resident of Ramban who killed Director General Prison, J&K Hemant Kumar Lohia’s at his friend house on Monday night.
Yasir was absconding after killing the IPS officer, at his friend Rajeev Khajuria’s house at Udiawala, in Jammu.
“In a major manhunt launched by J&K police throughout the night, the accused involved in Murder case of Shri Hemant Lohia has been apprehended. Interrogation of the accused has started”, ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh tweets.
Earlier, the ADGP in tweet, when a purported press note issued by a self-styled terror group surfaced, has said, “In the initial investigation into the incident of death of DG Prisons, Shri. HK Lohia, it has come to fore that one domestic helper Yasir Ahmead resident of Ramban is the main accused. Some CCTV footages collected from the incident site.”
“So far, no terror act is apparent as per Initial investigation but thorough probe is on to rule out any possibility. The weapon of offence has been seized besides some documentary evidence reflecting his mental state”, the Jammu Zone Police chief had tweeted.
