The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection recruitment board (JKSSRB) otherwise given the tag of premier recruitment board has been mired in controversies post abrogation of article 370 and article 35-A. The service Selection board was caught on the wrong foot following the surfacing of frauds in different recruitments and the latest was the Infamous Sub Inspectors recruitment where his excellency ordered the cancellation of the whole recruitment aftermath of the declaration of results where aggrieved and dejected raised a hue and cry as they smell foul over the selection of non-deserving aspirants in the Sub inspectors.
Even the exam for Finance account assistant too was cancelled also where aspirants too-leveled wild allegations of nepotism and favoritism in the selection list. So the government was caught in a fix and they ordered the cancellation of the exam of FAA in order to calm down the anger of the peeved and irked aspirants who staged vociferous protests for several days against the government’s alleged frauds and scams in the recruitment resultant there in Aspirants seething with anger and they lash out at against the government for their failure to ensure transparency and accountability in the recruitment.
It is worthwhile to mention here that this government has beaten the trumpet that scandals that used to occur during the erstwhile state of the regime become things of the past in this UT there would be transparency and accountability to the core but as time passed and recruitment came and selection list declared this left the deserving students marginalized given their names not figured in the selection list and this brews resentment amongst them.
As the much-publicized investigation into the infamous scam of SIs list has been handed over to the CBI to ascertain whom the culprits behind such fraud played with the previous career of the aspirants who burnt the midnight oil to don the khaki uniform but little did they know that money has done the destruction in the appointment of SIs as those ones who have money they have managed their sibling’s name figured in the list but those ones who just possess caliber and dynamism they being shunted out of the selection list resultant there in these aggrieved aspirants caught between the devil and deep sea as what to do at this crucial Juncture as they lost their precious time.
During the investigation, it came to the fore that several influentials were involved in this SI scam as they deliberately engaged that agency for holding an exam in order to confer undue benefits to them as well in turn to them also of the money. Even those who are arrested in this SIs scam they had applied for bail but the honble courts rejected the bail with an observation that the investigation going on coupled with the offense in which the accused are involved involves larger public interest as such granting bail at this stage would thwart the course of Justice and this would shake the confidence of the public in the courts.
The Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh High court today canceled the ongoing SIs exam as well as that of JE Civil and directed the Government to conduct an inquiry headed by not less than the retired HC Judge over the alleged malpractices, irregularities, and illegalities of the SSRB as the conduct of the SSRB does not inspire confidence for holding public examinations rather this shaken the credibility of the JKSSRB.
Agency has been allotted the contract that is already under blacklisted for its Irregularities rather court said it has become necessary for all the stakeholders to review the functioning of the board, HC recorded. Fumed over the working of the JKSSRB, Aspirants Turning the tables against the JKSSRB rued that what this SSRB doing with us they are playing with our precious career which is really an irony that these recruitments also become money minting exercise as they give two hoots to the norms and gives tender to their blue-eyed ones.
We request LG sir to ensure transparency and accountability in the recruitment system as given the recurring glaring omission and commission this has spelled doom for us. We lost confidence in government recruitment as the government just believes in mere rhetoric and doesn’t have any care about the precious career of the unemployed youths who are burning the midnight oil to get selected in the different recruitments but to utter dismay and chagrin we are left in a lurch which is really astonishing and baffling on their part as this government crossed all limits of pervasive corruption.
