Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister, Manjit Singh today visited the victim farmers whose standing crops on 12 acres were destroyed in accidental fire in Samba district’s village.

In a statement to the press, Manjit Singh visited the affected families whose standing crops burnt down due to the ablaze in village Redwan Kalan. On reviewing the damage caused to the farmers, he assured them that their demand for compensation will be highlighted before the concerned authorities. He appealed to the administration that adequate compensation should be paid to the affected families so that these poor farmers could not suffer. “These farmers and their families had dependence upon the crops which had burnt into ashes following accidental fire and hence, the authorities should make the assessment of the losses,” he said. He further said that the authorities must ensure the fire and emergency should deploy fire tenders in tehsil headquarters for immediate action following the fire incidents. Meanwhile, he also said the farmers have not only lost their crops, but fodder for their cattles. “These affected families should be provided free of cost ration and other facilities so that they can recover from the losses suffered in the fire incident,” he said.
