NC leader visits Kathua, listens to public issues
Former Minister and President Central Zone Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) (Jammu, Kathua & Samba), Babu Rampaul visited border areas in Kathua district and assessed the problems being faced by the local residents. He also met three delegations of party’s district units. The delegations were led by Yash Pal, Kathua Urban Coordinator; Sham Mehta, President, Kathua Rural B; and Sham lal Mehra, Coordinator, Kathua Rural B. They highlighted the problems being faced by the people of Kathua district especially the border dwellers. They sought recruitment in police on border battalion pattern so that the youth of this disadvantaged area could get employment.
Babu Rampaul urged the cadre to strengthen the party at grass root level. He said, “We have to take the vision of our party leadership to every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir for its development and benefit of people.” He reiterated the party’s stand with respect to restoration of statehood with full powers to address the aspirations of people. He mentioned that people have suffered a lot during the last three years especially after the abrogation of Article 370, bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir and downgraded of State to a Union Territory. He said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He flayed the administration for shunning the age-old practice of Darbar Move which caused great loss to the business community of Jammu region. He assured that, if voted to power, NC will restore this with immediate effect. Others who accompanied Babu Rampal are Dr Vikas Sharma, Adv.
