Apni Party State Coordinator OBC, Madan Lal Chalotra today demanded enhancement of reservation of OBC people in Jammu and Kashmir up to 27% at par with rest of the States.
In a statement, Chalotra regretted the apathy of Govt to consider the genuine demand of reservation of actually socially, educationally and economically backward class i.e., Other Backward Class in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that “The share of reservation to the socially and educationally backward was shared among elite class leaving to only 2% to actual educationally and Socially Backward Class but the tyranny has not ended yet against the recommendation of 27 % reservation for this section of society we have not yet reached 4%.” “The social discrimination and educational backwardness has been the main reasons that this class has could not fight the powerful who in one or the other way have stole their share of rights tough guaranteed by the Constitution of India,” he said. He further said “The representation of this actual OBC community in judiciary, civil administration, police and legislation is negligible in J&K.” Chalotra stressed upon the Lieutenant Governor administration to take concrete steps for providing justice to this deprived class of the society and ensure that the OBC certificate is issued in their favour instead of different nomenclature used to give false perception of providing justice to this community. He also appealed to the Prime Minister to include this section of society in his endeavour to Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and demanded the announcement of 27% reservation in favour of the OBC community during his scheduled visit to Samba. He said that they have full faith in the leadership of Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari sahab who has represented all sections of society and provided equal opportunity to all the people without discrimination. He said that all the leaders and workers of the party are committed workers and will strengthen the party accordingly.
