While talking to the Dainik Shiv times, one of the student when asked about the incident said” This Medical students is of batch 2022 and it is a personal educational group what’s app and there are about 185 students in the group. One of the student of his own sent the message in the group regarding the Kerala Story to which students reacted sharply that this is a educational group as such don’t sent such type of messages in the group. Unity requires to be maintained” he informed.

“Then one of the student went to the seniors and raked up the issue with them that students stopped him from sending messages. Then those two students being beaten mercilessly one is Umar and Arif they get serious injuries. Seniors then hit the bottles on these injured students on their heads coupled with also made use of the locks and keys in the inter block area of the Hostel. Police is not ready to lodge an FIR and even administration said come with us about five students in order to have deliberation with us, student maintained. “I am from Jammu and when asked whether prior this such incident happened, Students informed prior outsider’s came and they beaten the students ruthlessly”, he asserted. On being asked that what depicted as wine bottles being used that too in the Hostel this is really intriguing and Baffling, peeved and irked Student said” Never prior bottles being used during the fights adding, this is happening since long against these Kashmiri students as students used to uttered wrong against them. We are from Jammu and we don’t spared you. This is going on since long. Prior one incident happened where in 15- 20 students thrashed one student lonely. Compromise agreed. FIR lodged and poster installed no raging at all” he categorically maintained.

Another student demanded that students who have attacked on these students they should be immediately rusticated. These students with bottles, lock and keys attacked them. Given the severe beating there is every apprehension that student’s life taken away. Aggrieved student vehemently said we want brotherhood. But irony no action still so far. We want action” he asserted. SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said that an investigation into the incident is underway”. “There has been some incident of scuffle between students of GMCH Jammu and outsiders in the hostel of GMCH Jammu. Cognizance of the matter has been taken and investigation is on, “he added. Principal GMCH Jammu Dr Shashi Sudan Sharma visited the protesting site and assured them that the action will be taken as per the law of the land.

“There was a scuffle in the boys’ hostel and five students suffered minor injuries. Four of them discharged immediately and one of them who had received stitches in the head, is being discharged within two hours” Dr Shashi said adding, who visited the emergency ward to inquire about the health of the injured victims told reporters. “A Whatsup  message worked as instigation but the situation is very well under control. The interference of some medicos who have left the Institute and some other’s have recorded”she said adding as already FIR has been lodged and disciplinary committee is doing it’s Job” Principal GMCH asserted. Reacting to the post shared by some social media user showing one of the injured students undergoing treatment, the People Democratic Party attacked the BJP party for allegedly dividing the people on communal lines. “Shocking that GOI (Government of India) promotes and encourages violence through movies stocking communal fires. The blood of innocent is being spilled to quench BJPs insatiable thirst for petty electoral dividends. Request @Office of LG JK to take cognizance and punish culprits”Mufti wrote on Twitter.
