Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir fulfilled the demand of agitating aspirants, who alleged scam in the written test conducted by the (Jammu Kashmir Services Selection Board) JKSSB for the post of Sub Inspectors in Jammu Kashmir Police, by cancelling recruitment process and handing over the case for further investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
“JKP Sub-Inspector recruitment has been cancelled & a CBI probe has been recommended into selection process. Culprits will be brought to justice soon. It’s a first big step towards securing future of our youth & govt will soon decide future course of action for fresh recruitment”, LG Manoj Sinha tweets from official twitter handle, @OfficeOfLGJandK.
The demand for probe and cancelation of process was getting louder with each passing day, when the JKSSB declared results of written test on June 4th. Within five days, when the JKSSB declared results and in response to aspirants’ anger, the LG administration ordered a high-level inquiry headed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department R K Goyal.
The inquiry committee found something fishy, the top 100 candidates of the result couldn’t respond before the committee as per their previous ‘merit’. LG Manoj Sinha understanding the pain of the aspirants, who were agitating and going through the recommendations made by the high level inquiry committee, cancelled the process and handed over the case to CBI for further investigation. It pertinent to mention here that at least twenty siblings, found with almost similar marks obtained in the written test conducted by the JKSSB.
Name of a retired paramilitary forces personnel as major touts surfaced in the prelim investigation and it was alleged that question paper in exchange of huge bribe was provided to some aspirants 24 hours prior to the exam. Ranging between 100 to 200 candidates of Khour to Akhnoor have attained more than 100 marks and more than 20 siblings have attained more than 100 marks. The aspirants alleged that some officials of the JKSSB have wreaked the biggest fraud but it should be enquired by CBI as it is much serious in nature. The mobile number of all those candidates who got more than 100 marks especially belonging from Khour to Akhnoor be investigated and mobiles of selected siblings must be investigated”, Jammu Jottings, an English Daily newspaper of Jammu had reported.
