Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the Attestation cum Passing Out Parade of the 16th Basic Recruit Training Course (BRTC) Batch at the Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) in Talwara, Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The event marked the completion of rigorous training for 860 new recruit constables of the border battalion.
During the ceremony, the passing out cadets took an oath to perform their duties with dedication and honesty. Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha congratulated the newly inducted personnel on becoming an integral part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police force.
Sinha praised the STC Reasi as an esteemed institution dedicated to imparting policing values and professional skills necessary to meet the challenges of terrorism and maintain law and order. He expressed confidence in the ability of these new recruits to discharge their duties responsibly and carry forward the rich legacy of the J&K Police.
The Lieutenant Governor paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the J&K Police, highlighting their high level of professional excellence in extremely challenging circumstances. He emphasized the force’s crucial role in preserving the integrity and security of the nation while ensuring J&K’s progress.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from J&K, Sinha urged the new recruits to act as force multipliers in neutralizing terror threats. He stated, “Terrorism is breathing its last breath, and this has made our neighbor, the exporter of terror, desperate. The recent terror acts are signs of our enemy’s desperation. Our aim is complete elimination of terrorism.”
Sinha also addressed emerging threats such as drug trafficking, cybercrime, and radicalization, stressing the need for high-level motivation and professionalism within the police force. He commended the J&K Police for their effectiveness in tackling terrorism in cyberspace and their responsiveness to citizens’ safety needs.
The Lieutenant Governor took the Rashtriya Salute, inspected the parade, and received the salute during an impressive march-past by the contingents. He also felicitated outstanding achievers among the cadets with awards and certifications.
Director General of Police R.R. Swain, who was present at the event, extended his best wishes to the new recruits and urged them to work honestly and dedicate themselves to public service. Jameel Ahmed, Principal of STC Talwara, provided details about the training program and various activities conducted during the Basic Recruit Training course.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including DDC Chairman of Reasi Saraf Singh Nag, ADGP Law & Order Vijay Kumar, ADGP Jammu Anand Jain, and Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari. Serving and retired army and police personnel, along with family members of the passing out cadets, were also present to witness this significant event.
LG Sinha concluded by reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the modernization of the police force and the welfare of police and security personnel and their families, underscoring the importance of a well-equipped and motivated force in maintaining peace and security in the region.
