In a recent development in Darhal Rajouri, the Jammu and Kashmir police have taken swift action against a notorious individual for violating the District Magistrate’s order by using a Virtual Private Networking (VPN) application on his personal mobile phone.

According to the police spokesperson, Mazhar Iqbal was apprehended by a Naka Party of PS Darhal at Dodaj area under the supervision of SHO PS Darhal, Inspector Habib Pathan. During the inspection, it was discovered that the accused had installed the Thunder VPN application on his personal mobile phone, contravening the District Magistrate Rajouri’s order dated 24-04-2024 which prohibits the usage of all VPNs until the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections in the entire District.
Speaking on the incident, the police highlighted that this was not an isolated case, as in the past two days, two incidents of a similar nature have been reported in the District – one at Police Station Kandi and the other at Police Station Darhal. They have sternly warned that more stringent actions will be taken against any anti-social elements found flouting such regulations in the future. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of observing and adhering to the District Magistrate’s orders, especially during crucial periods like elections, and the police authorities are committed to upholding the law and ensuring compliance with regulations to maintain peace and security in the region.
