A tragic incident unfolded at the Reasi Police Station on May 2nd, resulting in the death of a man identified as Ranjit Singh, son of Vakeel Singh, a resident of Talwar, Reasi.
According to sources, Ranjit Singh had arrived at the police station with the intention of meeting with officials. However, before the meeting could take place, he consumed a poisonous substance. Immediately after ingesting the poison, Singh informed the police officers present that he had taken the toxic substance and subsequently lost consciousness.
The Reasi Police swiftly responded by rushing Singh to the hospital for medical treatment. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later referred to the Government Medical College in Jammu for further care. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical professionals, Ranjit Singh succumbed to the effects of the poisoning on Tuesday, May 7th.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that Ranjit Singh had been involved in a dispute with his wife, leading him to reside in a rented accommodation in Jammu. A police official stated, “He had a dispute with his wife. He was putting up in Jammu in a rented accommodation.” In response to this tragic incident, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to gather more details and determine the circumstances surrounding Ranjit Singh’s actions.
The untimely death of Ranjit Singh has left the community in shock, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
