The Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted extensive raids across several hotspot areas within the jurisdiction of the Bakshi Nagar sub-division in Jammu district.
On May 11, 2024, a special team of police personnel led by respective Station House Officers (SHOs) and supervised by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Bakshi Nagar carried out targeted raids in known heroin (chitta) hotspots. The areas covered included Paloura near the tubewell (under Janipur Police Station), Resham Ghar, the psychiatric hospital area, Shiv Nagar area, Kamdhenu Flats area, and Shakti Nagar Toys area (under Bakshi Nagar Police Station).
During these raids and searches, the police identified and arrested several drug addicts and peddlers involved in the illegal trade. The operation aimed to disrupt the supply chain and curb the menace of drug abuse in the region.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have vowed to continue such raids and searches in the hotspot areas of the Bakshi Nagar sub-division in the coming days, leaving no stone unturned in their crusade against the drug menace.
