National Conference Secretary Central Zone and Coordinator for Jammu District (Urban), Dr Vikas Sharma has condemned the district administration for carrying out illegal demolition drive in Narwal bye-pass area early this morning.
In a statement issued, Dr Sharma said that the officials from revenue department with the help of Police carried out the demolition drive along Narwal byepass road and Bathindi-Sunjuwan road without serving prior notices. He said, “Several people approached him with the proper documents of their properties on which the demolition drive was carried out in pre-dawn hours.” The administration is furthering the agenda of a particular political party which is unjust and amounts to injustice with the people who are being victimized, he alleged and demanded that the drive shall be stopped forthwith and the affected people be suitably compensated. Dr. Sharma maintained that NC will not tolerate such actions of district administration. “The revenue authorities are accountable to public and they should not toe the line of a political party, ” he advised.
