In a scathing attack on the NC-Congress alliance, Ekam Bharat Sanatam Dal (EBSD) National President Advocate Ankur Sharma today termed the alliance a grave threat to national security and called upon the voters of Jammu and Kashmir to defeat anti-national forces in the Assembly elections.
Speaking at a press conference at the party’s office in Jammu, Sharma announced his party’s decision not to participate in the elections, urging voters to instead support nationalist individuals and parties.
“Communal politics that was once directed against the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir by the Abdullahs and Gandhis in 1931 is resurfacing in 2024,” Sharma stated. He warned that Pakistan was backing the alliance’s demand for the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A, which were abrogated in 2019.
“We must remember that West Pakistani Refugees were granted their rights only after these discriminatory articles were removed. It took 70 years to break the chains of slavery imposed by the Abdullahs, Gandhis, and Muftis,” he said.
Sharma emphasized that EBSD had chosen not to contest the elections to focus on strengthening nationalist parties and candidates. “This is a critical moment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as they have the opportunity to elect a nationalist government after a decade,” he said.
Sharma further accused the NC-Congress alliance of fostering separatism, adding, “They are once again colluding with Pakistan to destabilize peace in the country. However, the nationalist people of Jammu and Kashmir now have the chance to shape their own destiny by rejecting this alliance.” He urged voters to see through the dangerous eco-system being orchestrated and to vote for national unity.
