The much awaited announcement finally came in regards to the conduct of Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections of Jammu Municipal corporation ( JMC) .Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta and Deputy Mayor submitted a resignations few weeks ago as the Mayor cited the reason for his resignation is that development not taking place as per the desired level in Jammu coupled with Jammu being marred with languishing projects as such chosen to submitted the resignation.
“The elections of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Jammu Municipal corporation shall be held on 21.10.2022 at 11 AM in terms of section 36 of the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal corporation act ( Amended vide order No S. O 3808( E) dated 26.10.2010 issued by the Ministry of the home affairs ( GOI) and regulation 6 & 8 of the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal corporation (Procedure and conduct of business) regulation 2005 by means of “open ballot” ( amended) “reads the contents of the order no. JMC/S/ 964/ 70 issued by the Secretary Jammu Municipal corporation.
The NOMINATION PAPER ( Form 1) is available in the office of the Secretary Jammu Municipal corporation. The nomination in form – 1 duly filled and shall delivered in the office of Secretary Jammu municipal Corporation by or before 17.10.2022 from 10 AM to 4 PM, reads the order further.
