Opposition parties unequivocally condemned the move of the government as arbitrary and unwarranted

August 19: A day after Chief Electoral officer ( CEO) HIrdesh kumar during presser informed that now post abrogation of article 370 and article 35- A breaks the shackles as allowed the outsider’s from the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir to cast votes in the ensuing elections be it those who came UT of JK as laborers, Study purposes, army etc any one who came here for temporary purpose they would cast vote now. As this news came to know it spreads like wildfire with Opposition parties stepped it’s ante against the ruling government for their deliberate attempt to interfered into the affairs of the government which they categorically condemned it boldly and opposed it by tooth and nail.
Former CM Mehbooba Mufti also minced no words in taking pot shots against the government for their illogical move of allowing the outsider’s to cast votes in the ensuing elections which she rued adding, this is high time for the other parties to get United and condemned it at the earliest in the intrest of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
Even Apni Party Chief Altaf Bukhaari also termed that as they came to know about the inclusion of non local voters about 25 lacs in the elections adding, this brews resentment amongst us as how the outsider’s would vote here and he sought clarification from PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit shah in regards to the inclusion of Non local voters “he asserted.
National Conference also reacted sharply regarding the Inclusion of Non local voters as they termed this an attempt to disenfranchised the local voters adding, we would take up the move of the government with the higher ups so that it would revoked at the earliest as it’s an attempt to changed the demography of the UT of JK nothing else” they uttered.
Civil Society also up in arms against the government for allowing the Non locals voters to cast votes as they termed it’s a brazen attempt to changed the demography of the UT of JK.
“How come an outsider’s came to know about whom they have to elected by casting votes adding, rather it’s an Ulterior motive of the government to changed the Muslim majority UT of the country which they said is really baffling and intriguing as what forced the ruling government to give rights to the non local voters as this would surely wrecked havoc on the economy of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir”Civil Society vehemently regretted and urged all the masses and opposition parties to launch widespread agitation to opposed this move of the government which has far reaching consequences of the same.
Senior official in the government while allaying the fears in regards to change in the demographic invasions in the Union territory of JK said with the inclusions of about 25 lacs Non local voter’s adding, there is no need to fear as post abrogation of Article 370 and article 35- A Representation of people’s act 1950 and 1951 have been enforced in UT of Jammu and Kashmir due to which Under this Law Non locals voters have very right to cast votes in UT of JK”he categorically stated while responding to a query of this scribe.
“Before Article 370 abrogation representation of people’s act 1950 was not applicable to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir he stressed adding, but now this act is applicable which paves way for the Non locals voters to cast votes in UT of Jammu and Kashmir” Official lamented.
On being asked that there is uproar and seething with anger different opposition parties as how non locals voters cast two votes one from the states they belongs to and another one in UT of JK, official puts the records straight by saying if the Non locals voters have to cast votes in UT of JK they have to first deleted their names from electoral rolls where they used to cast votes”official maintained.
