‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’, ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign’ Kickstarted by Prime Minister Modi to Promote Tourism

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a series of transformative projects aimed at ushering in a new era of development in Jammu & Kashmir.

Addressing a mammoth gathering in Srinagar, the Prime Minister unveiled initiatives spanning agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure, signaling a monumental leap forward for the region’s socio-economic landscape.

“Today marks a historic moment in the journey of Jammu & Kashmir towards progress and prosperity,” remarked Prime Minister Modi, as he addressed the enthusiastic crowd. “With the dedication of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme and the launch of various tourism projects, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.”

The centerpiece of the event was the unveiling of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), a comprehensive initiative aimed at revolutionizing the agricultural sector in the region. “The HADP program will empower over 2.5 lakh farmers with essential skills and resources, fostering employment generation and enhancing livelihoods,” stated Prime Minister Modi. Amidst thunderous applause, the Prime Minister inaugurated multiple tourism projects worth over Rs 1400 crore under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes. “These initiatives will not only enhance the tourism infrastructure but also create new employment opportunities and boost the local economy,” emphasized Prime Minister Modi.

The event also witnessed the launch of the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’, aimed at engaging citizens in identifying preferred tourist attractions across various categories. “The participation of the people is crucial in shaping the future of tourism in our country,” said the Prime Minister, urging citizens to actively participate in the poll.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister announced the ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign’, calling upon the Indian diaspora to promote tourism to India. “Our overseas Indians are our cultural ambassadors, and their support is invaluable in promoting tourism,” remarked Prime Minister Modi.

The event provided a platform for beneficiaries of government schemes to share their success stories. Nazim Nazeer, a beekeeper from Pulwama, expressed gratitude for government support in expanding his business. “The government’s initiatives have transformed my life and empowered me to create employment opportunities for youth in my region,” said Nazeer, his voice filled with emotion.

Ahtesham Majid Bhat, a bakery entrepreneur from Srinagar, shared his journey of innovation and entrepreneurship. “The government’s support through skill development programs and incubation centers has enabled me to realize my dreams,” said Bhat, as he thanked the Prime Minister for the opportunities provided.

Hamida Bano, involved in the dairy business in Ganderbal, praised the government for its initiatives in promoting entrepreneurship among women. “The support extended by the government has enabled me to contribute to the local economy while promoting nutrition and sustainability,” said Bano, with a sense of pride.

In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed his commitment to the development and welfare of Jammu & Kashmir. “The journey towards Viksit Jammu Kashmir and Viksit Bharat is a collective endeavor, and together, we will realize the aspirations of the people,” he declared, amidst resounding applause. The event, attended by dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, and Union Minister of State, Dr. Jitendra Singh, marked a significant milestone in the journey of Jammu & Kashmir towards prosperity and progress.

The unveiling of these transformative initiatives underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to inclusive growth and development, heralding a new dawn for Jammu & Kashmir and its people. The event showcased the government’s multi-faceted approach towards fostering socio-economic development in Jammu & Kashmir, with initiatives spanning agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure.
