In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Jammu on Tuesday, local authorities in Jammu district have implemented a no-fly zone, along with stringent security measures, to ensure the safety and security of the event.
The no-fly zone, encompassing a temporary restricted area for drones and unauthorized aircraft operations, is effective from 6:00 PM on February 19, 2024, until 11:00 PM on February 20, 2024.
These directives have been issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Jammu under section 22(2) of the notification of the Ministry of Civil Aviation regarding Drone Rules-2021.
It’s pertinent to mention here that Rule 49 of Drone Rules 2021, Police can take cognizance of the contravention of Rule 22 & Rule 27 of Drone Rules 2021, which are cognizable and non-cognizable.
The decision to declare a no-fly zone and impose strict security measures underscores the significance of ensuring a secure environment for the Prime Minister’s visit, prioritizing safety protocols and public security during high-profile events.
