Terming Sawajian road accident of Poonch district in which 12 persons killed and 25 injured when a minibus they were travelling in plunged into deep gorge this morning, as man-made tragedy ex MLA from Kalakote and Chairman All J&K Kissan Union, Advocate Ashok Kumar Sharma urged upon the LG administration to adopt road safety measures to protect the life of the people of J&K from such unnatural tragedies.
Mr Sharma has extended condolences and prayed before the Almighty for rest of the noble souls in peace and courage to their families’ members to face the unnatural tragedy. The former MLA urged upon the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and the Chief Secretary AK Mehta for their personal intervention and provide best possible treatment to the injured. He also urged upon the LG to provide at least Rs 10 lac each to the families of those died and Rs 5 lac each to the injured as relief. The Chairman AJKKU further impressed upon the Union Territory government to adhere to the directions of J&K High in PIL Indian Council vs State of J&K & Ors in its letter and spirit and adopt road safety measures to protest the life of the people of J&K from such unnatural tragedies.
