Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) condemned the unwarranted interference into Sikh Community’s religious affairs by Bhagwant Maan led Aam Admi Party (AAP) government in Punjab.
In this regard DGPC Jammu, convened a special meeting under the president ship of S Ranjeet Singh Tohra along with S Balvinder Singh Vice President, S Surjit Singh Gen Secretary, S Jagpal Singh Cashier, S Ranvir Singh Jt Secretary, S Gurmeet Singh and S Harjit Singh incharge Dharam Parchar, expressed deep anguish and concern on the unwarranted interference of Bhagwant Maan Govt of Punjab, the ‘stooges’ of APP who have infringed into the authority and sanctity of SGPC, the highest temporal body of Sikh Community by introducing an amendment in the Gurudwra Act 1925 which has been the fundamental right of Sikh Community and it can only amended by the Parliament with the consent of SGPC only.
In a deep rooted conspiracy there have been concerted efforts of every state agencies to infringe the working and importance of SGPC Amritsar. APP govt in Punjab is trying to make SGPC weak on the same pattern so that it cannot protect the rights of Sikh Community worldwide, as guaranteed under the Gurudwara Act 1925.
While commenting on the issue DGPC members stated that Bhagwant Maan under a deep rooted Conspiracy is hurting the sentiments of Sikh Community by weakening the authority of SGPC, and if this is allowed to continue in this manner it will not be tolerated by the Sikh Community throughout the world.
All members of DGPC Jammu jointly urged upon all Sikh organizations, Sikh Diaspora to stand united on the issue, irrespective of their political affiliation to condemn and oppose such move of Bhagwant Maan Govt to preserve and protect the values and sanctitiy of SGPC, the highest temporal Sikh body.
