The Railway Police in Jammu have made a significant arrest by apprehending an absconder who had been evading the law for over a decade.
Mohammed Ali, son of Haji Ghulam Haider, a resident of Chinchik, Kargil, was arrested in connection with a pending case from 2013.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Railways, Jammu, Mohammed Ali was involved in FIR No. 02/2013 registered under sections 279 (rash driving) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station GRP Jammu.
Despite multiple attempts to execute arrest warrants against him, Ali had managed to evade the authorities for nearly 11 years. However, in a recent operation conducted by the Railway Police team, he was finally apprehended, bringing an end to his long stint as an absconder.
The SSP Railways, Jammu, lauded the efforts of the police team, stating that the arrest marked a significant achievement in their ongoing efforts to bring absconders to justice. He further revealed that this arrest was the ninth warrant executed under section 512 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) by the Railway Police in the last eight weeks.
