“Whole Family lost in a road rage, Ramban district under hour of grief”
Mohd Irfan
There seems to be no let-up in the recurring road accidents taking place on National Highway 44 as not a single day passed when not an accident happened. As such this is wake up call for civil Society in general and government to ascertain the reason behind the recurring road accidents every day. Pall of gloom descended on the Family members who lost their dear ones as they left in lurch due to the accidents as some lost their bread earner and, in same accidents, whole Family left for heavenly abode.
Yesterday, Imam of Jama Masjid Gool- Sangladan of Ramban district accompanied with his family members lost their precious lives when the I will fate vehicle, they were traveling in went into deep gorge as the driver failed to negotiate a curve. As per reports, the Family members in question were heading towards Udhampur district for medical check-up but little did they knew that they lost their lives. Now, the moot question arisen for consideration as till how much time we would continue to see dance of death on roads as blood bath at its ferocity as precious lives lost at the drop of the hat.
Government is making untiring efforts to provide the better roads and National Highways like the way we get four lanes from Jammu to Udhampur and for which commuters are using the same without any traffic mess which is a good initiative on the part of government. But the condition of the roads on the National Highway is dilapidated given the work for the expansion of NH going on in order to decongest traffic.
But due to the ongoing recurring accidents on the NH which is taking heavy toll on the human lives. Several moot questions being raised for the recurring accidents as to why such recurring deaths taking place. Whether due to rash and negligent driving accidents taking place? Whether due to the absence of crash barriers on the NH vehicles I will fate vehicles goes into deep gorge? Whether Installation of crash barriers on the NH avert such accidents? Questions whose answers required at the earliest before it is too late.
Those ones who lost their lives in tragic accidents do not come back again into this materialistic world as such there arisen the need that we should take remedial measures to avert such horrible accidents because these accidents continue to haunts the Family members who lost their beloved ones.
