Pernote Village, Ramban District – A severe ground sinking incident has caused extensive damage to residential houses in Pernote village, forcing families to evacuate their homes. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramban district, Baseer Ul Haq, has been actively sharing updates on the situation and the administrations response efforts through a series of posts on X.
According to the DC’s posts, the district administration has swiftly established a 24/7 community kitchen at the camp site in Pernote to support the displaced families with meals during this challenging time. Additionally, an Emergency Operation Centre and Camp Office under the DC, who also serves as the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), has been set up to promptly address the issues faced by the affected families and coordinate necessary relief efforts.

DC Ramban further shared, “Emergency Operation Centre/ Camp Office of DC/ Chairman DDMA Ramban has been set up to address promptly the issues of displaced families in their tough time. It shows a proactive response to the situation caused by the sinking of the ground and damages to residential houses of Parnote Ramban. The camp office shall ensure the necessary relief efforts are being coordinated effectively to assist those affected.”

The DC, along with Additional District Commissioner (ADC) Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar Deep Kumar, and other concerned officials, have been personally supervising and monitoring the relief camp established for the victims. The district administration is continuously working to restore roads, electricity, and civic amenities in the affected area, with an alternate road via Sumber-Digdoal made operational to ensure connectivity and the supply of essential services.

Despite the challenges posed by the natural calamity isolating the Gool Sub Division from the rest of the district, the Ramban Administration has ensured proper healthcare facilities for residents.
