J&K: Athlete Ritik Sharma felicitated for clinching gold
To keep the youth at bay, who are getting lured to drugs addiction, Babu Rampal, former Minister and President Central Zone, Jammu Kashmir National Conference(JKNC) batted for providing adequate sport facilities to the young generation living in the rural areas.
In a program where Ritik Sharma, Gold Medalist was presented a Trophy and Rs 5100 in under-18 boy category in 56th National Cross Country Championship, Babu Rampal urged the Government for extending help to youth enabling them to ameliorate their lot in different fields including sports, he said adding that besides their academic studies, they be given ample opportunities to excel in sports as this way they can ensure their bright career and also bring laurels for Jammu and Kashmir UT. Lauding the efforts of Ritik Sharma son of Subash Chander, Babu said that he is son of the soil hailing from Village Salalpur of Kathua District. He begun running under the guidance and motivation of Capt J. C Sharma who is an outstanding sports person. He disclosed that he was finally trained by Coach Ravi Kumar Jassal, which enabled him to clinch Gold Medal. Wishing him a bright future in the line, Babu Rampal opined Ritik to work hard and put in painstaking endeavor to achieve more heights in sports. To give boost to sport persons, former Minister Babu Rampal demanded and urged the Govt that more financial assistance be provided to sport person who is tiring hard to excel in sport to elevate the image of Jammu and Kashmir. Pointing out that the graph of unemployment is constantly rising at a rapid speed and engaging youth in the field of sports and in other fractious activities is bound to help youth take the right path of life instead of resorting to drugs and intoxication due to desperation and despair.
