At a time when Jammu is turning into Smart City, blinking mode of traffic signals create chaos for the commuters, mocking at the agencies manning traffic system of the city.
Ishant Verma, a practicing lawyer at High Court Jammu, taking a dig over failure of administration said, “Due to the blinking traffic lights commuters facing hardships. The administration should at the earliest fix the problem in order to heave of sigh of relief for the commuters.”
Another commuter, Rohan of Bantalab rues, “He is office goer and he seen the traffic lights in main stop, HC road and other rotaries of Jammu on blinking mode which perturbed the commuters in commuting on the road. Government should restore the defunct lights so that Commuters don’t fear while crossing these traffic signals.
SSP Traffic Jammu Faisal Qureshi, when contacted cited the reason of keeping the Traffic lights on blinking mode, he stated that on different rotaries they keep the traffic lights on blinking mode because during the peak hours there was a chronic traffic.
“During the peak hours we keep the Traffic lights on manual mode on HC road Janipur as you cited the name of the same that there in traffic lights on blinking mode ” SSP Traffic divulged adding, as you know road of Janipur is narrow given the unprecedented increase in the strength of vehicles that is the reason we keep the traffic lights on Manual mode”, he added
