A 28-year-old woman who went missing from Jammu in 2017 has been traced and reunited with her family after 7 long years by Jammu Police.

“On September 11, 2017, a complainant had lodged a missing report that her daughter-in-law had gone missing from home. A DDR no. 15 was entered at Police Post City the same day,” a JKP spokesperson said.
The spokesperson further said, “A police team from Police Post Residency under the overall supervision of SP North Shivam Siddarth, close supervision of SDPO North Devinder Singh Bandral JKPS, assisted by SHO PS City and ICPP Residency, utilizing technical and human intelligence, traced the missing woman in Punjab.”
“After completing all legal formalities, the woman was today handed over to her legal heirs, and the missing report was closed,” the spokesperson added. The successful operation brought a family’s 7-year ordeal to an end. The J&K Police expressed satisfaction at being able to reunite the missing woman with her loved ones through sustained efforts.
While details of the missing woman, have been withheld to protect the privacy of those involved, the case underscores the resolve of J&K Police in investigating and resolving even long-pending missing person cases diligently.
