The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Kashmir division today carried out raids in Kishtwar district in connection with terror funding case. The raids begun Thursday morning at about 5 AM and continued till 10 AM at Tunda village of Kishtwar district in the house of Minhaj Bashir.
Sources said that SIA carried out raids following the information about the alleged links of the Youth Minhaj Bashir in terror funding and the name of the youth in question also surfaced recently during the threat extended to Journalists came to fore in Kashmir region.
“The raids have been conducted in presence of Magistrate, local police and SIA officials also present there in adding, as the SIA learnt that there is some contents in the Mobile phone of Minhaj Bashir and also he did chatting with the neighbouring country. SIA officials also seized incriminating materials from the youth in question like Mobile phone etc and directed the Minhaj Bashir to report to Kashmir for the purpose of doing further investigation in this case,” sources informed. The sources further said that Minhaj Bashir was not arrested but he has been quizzed by the SIA for about five hours in connection with terror related activities. Even in the Mobile phone of youth Pakistan Contact numbers also found. SIA now keep the Minhaj Bashir under watch list in order to keep strict vigil upon him.
