Taliban assassinated Dawa Khan Minapal a senior functionary of Afghanistan government and head of the media and information department, in an attack at country’s capital Kabul on Friday, Aljazzera reported.

“Two days ago, the Taliban has warned attack on a senior officer in retaliation for increased airstrikes on its bases at different place. Dawa Khan prior to this post had served President Ashraf Ghani’s spokesperson”, the Aljazzera reported, quoting interior ministry’s spokesperson. Minapal was a member of inner circle President Ghani.
