Continuing its drive against encroachment, LG administration in J&K today retrieved land works crores rupees grabbed by the National Leader and Former Minister in Qazigund area of Kashmir division, while 3431 Kanal has been retrieved from four districts of Jammu division on Thursday.
Encroached land retrieved from kin of Ex. Forest Minister & NC Leader Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah at Qazigund. The land, measuring 1 kanal and 18 marlas is registered as Kahcharai in Estate Kurigam of Tehsil Qazigund. As per revenue officials, the land was encroached on by the kin of senior NC leader and Ex-Minister Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah. The said piece of land, valuing more than Rs 1 crore, had been illegally encroached upon and is one of the many such patches of land retrieved from the clutches of influential land grabbers.
The District Administration Jammu today retrieved around 290 Kanal lands during eviction drives conducted in different parts of the district. Around 200 Kanal kahcharai land was retrieved in the village of Thalwal One Structure/farmhouse and plinths constructed on the land were also destroyed during the eviction drive. In another eviction drive, a team of revenue officers along with police retrieved 133 Kanal 8 Marla prime state land in the village Dungian Tehsil Bahu. The State Land board was also installed by concerned officials in presence of police. Similarly, state land measuring 47 kanal 8 Marla was evicted at Village Dhok Khalsa, Tehsil Jourian from the encroachers. In another anti-encroachment drive, the district administration retrieved prime state land measuring 8 Kanal in village Mishriwala which is close to Jammu- Akhnoor highway road.
The district administration Samba today retrieved 5 kanal and 13 marla prime land in Bari-Brahmana near the industrial estate, having market value worth crores. The revenue officers informed that the anti-encroachment drive was carried out to reclaim state land in possession of a former Bureaucrat and wife of a retired Executive Engineer. JCB machines were deployed to dismantle the boundary walls and other RCC structures erected on the site during the anti-encroachment drive. The land was retrieved and notice boards indicating the status of the land as state property was installed on the site. As per the concerned authorities, several influential encroachers have been identified and the drive will continue to reclaim the occupied land.
The District Administration Kathua has launched a massive anti-encroachment drive to reclaim illegally encroached land including high-value land during day-long action in different parts of the district. The revenue authorities along with the police have been conducting eviction drives in various parts of the district and have already ousted several encroachers from the land.
During the day-long drive conducted today, a quantum of 1841 kanal and 04 Marla land was reclaimed which includes State/ Roshni land authorities who have identified and ousted illegal encroachers besides demolishing illegal constructions made on these lands. The State land retrieved includes 858 Kanal 13 Marlas in Hiranagar, 604 kanal, 17 marlas in Marheen, 180 kanals, 05 marlas in Dinga Amb, 111 kanals, 19 marlas in Basohli, 27 Kanal, 08 Marlas in Lohai Malhar, 09 Kanals, 04 Marlas in Mahanpur, 52 Kanals, and 10 Marlas in Nagri Parole. A land chunk of 10 Kanals of Kacharie land was also recovered by Revenue authorities in Tehsil Kathua. Appositely, the District Administration under its resolve to reclaim the encroached land from the clutches of land grabbers is determined and marching ahead in consonance with the object of the government to reclaim all the state land.
The district administration Ramban, continuing an anti-encroachment drive, today retrieved more than 1294 Kanal encroached State land across eight Tehsils of the district. In a joint anti-encroachment, a team led by Tehsildar retrieved 445 Kanal state-land in Tehsil Banihal, besides demolishing illegal structures. Similarly, Revenue officers retrieved 305 Kanal state land in tehsil Ramban during a joint anti-encroachment drive with the Police. Likewise, 138 Kanal State land worth crores were retrieved in Khari, 79 Kanal in Ramsoo, and 76 Kanal in Batote.
