Widening of Jammu-Akhnoor road

Nowadays a complete lawlessness on the part of Traffic Police Jammu is creating chaos on Canal Road area, due the ongoing widening of Jammu-Akhnoor Road. You will find a taker (Traffic Cops) to man the traffic coming from Bakshi Nagar Jammu at Nehar Puli entry of vehicles from the wrong side further narrows the already narrow road.

The vehicles coming from Bakshi Nagar pass from front of the building of Apka Dawa Bazar– Peaks Auto-Palm Island, and create hurdles for the vehicles coming from opposite directions. Lines of vehicles coming from opposite directions can be seen any time at the stretch. One from Jewal via Canal road to Akhnoor road and another from opposite direction, similarly some road users prefer a shortcut from Bakshi Nagar Pulli to Talab Tillo road alongside the Apka Dawa Bazar store (now closed) vice versa. At a time when the works of widening on Jammu-Akhnoor road, and flyover are going in full swing, a minor traffic mismanagement could cause huge traffic jam what would last in hours, but the concerned agencies district administration, Jammu Municipal Corporation and the Traffic Police is not taking serious note of this problems.
