The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught a State Manager of Jammu & Kashmir State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO), Sanat Ghar, Bemina, Srinagar.
According ACB’s spokesperson, its sleuth on the basis of a complaint lodged by an industrialist, today trapped and arrested Fayaz Ahmad Khan, State Manager, for demanding and accepting bribe of ₹1.05 lakh for issuance of NOC
“A complaint was lodged by resident of Suthrashahi, Srinagar alleging that he was an industrial unit, at Khunmoh, Srinagar. For the expansion of his unit, he had applied for no objection certificate, as the same was required in Bank for further financial support to his unit. But the State Manager, SIDCO has demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 for himself and Rs 1 lakh for the General Manager for issuing the NOC”, the complainant claimed in his complaint.
“Acting upon the complaint the ACB registered a case. After registration of the case a trap team was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and caught Fayaz Ahmad Khan, State Manager SIDCO Sanat Ghar, Bemina, Srinagar red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant. He was arrested on the spot by the ACB team. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses”, the spokesperson said, adding that further investigation was going on into the matter.
