Joined on as district Police Chief in Jammu, in March 2021 Chandan Kohli proved himself on all fronts be it crime, drug peddling, illegal mining, communal tension, bovine smuggling, and other serious matters, being the son of the soil, instead of befooling the public always used his problem-solving abilities and probed himself as a successful officer.
The issue of Bovine smuggling from Punjab to Kashmir Valley touching sky when he joined here and took it as a major challenge to wipe it out, Kohli right from Gangyal to Jhajarkotli deployed the best officers who stopped the illegal transportation of bovine. His second target was drug peddling in the Jammu district, he rigorously pursued the matter of the drug and put many drug cartels behind bars. Several areas in the outskirts of Jammu have earned notoriety, as being the hub of drugs but Chandan Kholi and his team right from SSP Jammu to SPO worked hard and put many people behind bars to save the future of Jammu. During his tenure as SSP Jammu, Chandan was appointed Deputy Secretary, in the Cabinet Secretariat Union Government by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu . During his the district Police in Jammu successfully eliminated the terrorists during multiple attacks, who tried to destabilize peace in the winter capital of J&K. During his leadership JKP unearthed many theft cases in Jammu district. In Jammu district, one can see dozens of vehicles seized by Jammu Police engaged in illegal mining/extraction parked outside Police stations, Police Posts, and Police Nakas. On several occasions, anti-social elements tried to destabilize communal harmony in Jammu, but the Jammu Police under the leadership of Chandan Kholi always failed the nefarious design of such elements and exposed them. For commoners, the doors of Chandan Kohli as District Police Chief remained always open without any discrimination, and every visitor in the SSP Jammu office got due respect guaranteed under the constitution of India. It has been learned from reliable sources that using social resources Chandan Kohli provided a dignified livelihood to the widows of SPOs who laid down their lives in the line of duty, he is really a Robinhood for those families who are earning a dignified livelihood.
