Arresting five people many incidents were being reported in Akhnoor and Khour area of cattle being lifted by unknown persons. On this cognizance was taken and special squads of police were activated. On the intervening night of 17/18 December a special team headed by SHO Khour Inspector Ravi Kant along with Chowki officer Pallanwala ASI Raj Singh and other officials on a specific input placed a surprise naka and intercepted one Mahindra bolero bearing no. JK02DF/9608 in on Naryana chowk. During interception few cattle lifters who were boarding the Mahindra bolero in the body attacked the police party with stones and lathis and the driver and others tried to run away by overspending, but the alert police party nabbed all accused while displaying professionalism and acting promptly. From the vehicle, one sharp-edged weapon (Tokka) was also recovered by the Police. From the seized vehicle five lifted / stolen animals were recovered. The arrested accused are identified as Raj Ali alias Kaalu Gujjar resident of Prangala Khour, Bula Shah resident of Chrala Kote Reasi, Liaqat Ali resident Rajpora Karnachak, Husaindin resident of Kalayanpur Kanacahak and Mushtaq Ali resident Kanachak.
It is pertinent to mention that Raj Ali alias Kallu Gujjar is a notorious cattle lifter and many cases against him have been registered which include case FIR no 42/2014 us 188 RPC 3 PCA PS Khour, case FIR no 159/2115 us 188 RPC, 3 PCA PS Akhnoor, case FIR no 95/2017 us 307/332/324/147/148/149/127/201 RPC PS Khour, case FIR no 247/2023 us 379 IPC PS Akhnoor and case FIR no 107/2023 us 307/332/188 IPC,11 PCA Act 4/25 IAA. Further investigation is going on and more arrests are expected in the said case
