In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Rajouri district have arrested Lal Din, a resident of Kampla Mohra, Tehsil Qila Darhal, for allegedly facilitating a Rohingya woman, identified as Haleema, from Myanmar. The arrest comes in the wake of an ongoing investigation into a case registered under FIR No. 215/2023 at PS Nowshera, involving offenses under Sections 420, 467 IPC, and the Foreigners Act.

Lal Din, son of Chidia, was apprehended from Laam area in Nowshera, and during a search of his residence, law enforcement authorities seized crucial documents believed to have evidentiary value in connection with the case. The investigation unfolded with the initial arrest of Haleema, daughter of Mohd Nazir, from Myanmar, on October 19, 2023. Subsequently, she was released on bail by the Court of Law on October 30, 2023. Continuing their efforts, the police focused on the role of Lal Din in the alleged facilitation of Haleema.
The arrested individual is currently under further questioning as investigators gather more evidence to determine the extent of his involvement in the case. This marks the second arrest in connection with the ongoing investigation, with authorities indicating the possibility of additional arrests as the probe progresses.
The case underscores the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in addressing matters related to illegal facilitation and activities involving foreign nationals.
