A disturbing video capturing the merciless beating of a driver by a miscreant in the Narwal area of Jammu has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage among netizens. The incident has prompted questions about the motives behind the assault and the need for immediate police intervention.

The viral video, which has stirred strong reactions on social media, depicts a driver pleading with a miscreant not to beat him. However, the miscreant remains unmoved, subjecting the driver to severe thrashing. The incident raises several concerns about the use of vigilantism and the violation of law and order.

Amid the shock and condemnation from civil society, questions have been raised about the circumstances that led to such brutal treatment of the driver. The incident has prompted a series of inquiries:

What prompted the miscreant to resort to such severe thrashing?

Can a miscreant take the law into their own hands under any circumstance?

Does the miscreant not know about the consequences of violating the law?

Is the miscreant unaware that the police are responsible for maintaining law and order?

Does the miscreant not fear law enforcement agencies?

If the miscreant has any complaints against the driver, should they not have lodged an official complaint instead of taking the law into their own hands?

Civil society has unequivocally condemned the incident, emphasizing that the police must take decisive action against those who cross the line and resort to brutal acts of violence. The incident has highlighted the need for stringent measures against such acts of vigilantism.

Meanwhile, in response to the video circulating on social media, the Jammu Police, deploying special teams from PP Narwal under the supervision of the In-Charge of PP Narwal, swiftly reached the scene of the incident. After a thorough investigation, the police successfully apprehended the accused, identified as an employee of a transport company in Narwal. The Jammu Police have registered a case (FIR No. 18) under sections 343 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at PS Bahu Fort. The ongoing investigation is focused on delivering swift justice and ensuring that those involved in criminal activities face the consequences. The proactive response of the Jammu Police reflects their commitment to upholding law and order, securing justice for victims, and swiftly acting against criminal activities to maintain public safety. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of deterring such coercive and unlawful acts in society.
