The Sarang Helicopter Display Team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) is gearing up to dazzle spectators at the prestigious Singapore Airshow, scheduled to commence on February 20, 2024. Operating from the Changi airbase of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), the Sarang team conducted its first practice display on February 18, 2024, marking the beginning of their participation in the event.
This year’s Singapore Airshow promises an exhilarating lineup of display teams from across the globe, alongside leading aircraft and system manufacturers showcasing their products. Among the highlights is the debut appearance of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) Advanced Light Helicopter (Dhruv), operated by the Sarang team, at the airshow.
The ALH Dhruv’s presence at the Singapore Airshow marks a significant milestone, representing India’s prowess in indigenous aircraft manufacturing. Notably, the Sarang team’s first international display also took place in Singapore, at the Asian Aerospace Airshow held at Changi Exhibition Center in 2004.
During the Singapore Airshow, the Sarang team will captivate audiences with a breathtaking four-helicopter display, showcasing the agility, maneuverability, and precision flying skills of IAF pilots. The ALH Dhruv, renowned for its versatility and operational capabilities, serves across all branches of the Indian military, underscoring India’s commitment to self-reliance (Aatmanirbharta) in the defense sector.
