The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, graced the National Commission for Women’s event themed “Celebrating Inspirational Women,” titled ‘Tu Bol’, at the Convention Centre. The event served as a platform for women achievers to share their remarkable journeys ahead of International Women’s Day on 8th March.

In his address, the Lt Governor commended the National Commission for Women for their initiative in bringing together women achievers to inspire others. He highlighted the pivotal role of women in the developmental journey of the nation, asserting that “Nari Shakti” (women power) is leading the way in nation-building. The administration of Jammu and Kashmir, he noted, is steadfast in its commitment to women-led development, aiming to support gender parity and equity.

“Today Nari Shakti is at the forefront of our developmental journey and taking lead in the nation building. J&K Administration is focusing on women-led development with unwavering dedication and determination to support gender parity and gender equity,” the Lt Governor said.

Acknowledging the socio-economic empowerment facilitated by equal opportunities for women, the Lt Governor attributed this progress to the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He emphasized how the elimination of barriers, particularly those imposed under Article 370, has paved the way for women’s advancement in various spheres. “I am proud of our Nari Shakti. From Education to Entrepreneurship, from IT to Agriculture sector, from Sports to Science, they are scripting their own success stories,” the Lt Governor said.

Ms. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, underscored the importance of fostering fearlessness among young women and promoting empowerment and equality. The event featured women achievers who shared their stories of perseverance and triumph, inspiring others to pursue their dreams.

On the occasion, women achievers shared their stories of struggle and journey towards success and motivated others to pursue their dreams. Among the distinguished attendees were Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu; officials from the National Commission for Women and the Social Welfare Department of Jammu and Kashmir, along with a large number of people. The event served as a testament to the resilience and determination of women in overcoming obstacles and achieving excellence, furthering the cause of gender equality and empowerment in the region.
