Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mr. Devender Singh Rana today lashed out at the Congress party and its allies in the INDIA opposition coalition, accusing them of promoting an ‘India inimical political discourse” out of frustration over being out of power for a decade.
Addressing a gathering of the Gujjar community in Bhalwal tehsil, Mr. Rana alleged that the Congress’s policy of “family before nation” has seriously dented Indian ethos. “The rout of the Congress in national politics owes its genesis to the virus of ‘Parivarvaad’ (dynastic politics),” he stated, adding that this has now infected alliance partners in INDIA as they desperately cling to relevance.
Mr. Rana claimed the Congress’s prioritization of the Gandhi family over those who sacrificed for the nation is the sole reason for the “so-called grand old party’s” debacle – something Mahatma Gandhi himself had called for disbanding after independence. “Instead of learning from the Congress’s fate, like-minded dynastic parties have ganged up to save themselves and escape punishment for omissions and commissions,” he said, accusing them of tolerating anti-national activities to protect their families.
The BJP leader held the Congress responsible for instability, mayhem and discrimination that plagued Jammu and Kashmir for decades until the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. That landmark move, he said, ended an era of deprivation, marginalization and gender bias while emotionally and psychologically integrating J&K with the rest of India.
“The determination with which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah accomplished the BJP’s ‘One Nation, Nation First’ mission is in stark contrast to the Congress’s ‘Family First, Nation Last’ policy,” Mr. Rana stated, hailing the transformation visible in all spheres post Article 370’s abrogation.
