A horrific incident unfolded in the peaceful village of Kembal Danga on Saturday, leaving an Army soldier dead and his wife injured due to a heated matrimonial dispute.
According to local police reports, Doulat Ram, a member of the Village Defence Guard (VDG), allegedly shot and killed his son-in-law, Amit Singh, with a 303 rifle.
The fatal altercation occurred when Doulat Ram visited Singh, who was home on leave from the Army. Tensions escalated after Ram discovered that Singh had physically assaulted his daughter, Ram’s wife, over a long-standing marital conflict. Overcome with rage, the VDG member fired a gunshot at Singh’s chest, inflicting grievous injuries that proved fatal.
