In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu Police have apprehended Sonu, also known as Ranjha, a resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Sonu was wanted under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978, as per a warrant issued by the District Magistrate, Jammu.
Sonu has been involved in several criminal activities, including cases registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Notable among these are FIRs registered under IPC sections 341/307 (punishment for wrongful restraint and attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint) along with violations of the Arms Act and NDPS Act.
The apprehension of Sonu was the result of diligent efforts and the utilization of human intelligence by the Jammu Police, particularly in the South Zone. Raids conducted in Valmiki Nagar led to the successful arrest of this notorious individual. Today, the warrant against Sonu was executed, and he has been subsequently lodged in the Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
