Health department in border district Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir facing inconsistencies for long and different officers are openly violating norms. According to our sources, “All is not well in Health Department in border district Poonch” and a family has hijacked entire health system of the district. No matter, what say laws, matter for officers is from where they can get their personal benefits. Reportedly, Block Medical Officer Surankote on the direction of Chief Medical Officer Poonch has issued an order number BMO/SKT/1184-87 dated 23/06/2022 in which he violating NHM norms transfers NHM employees. Is there any provision for settlement of NHM employees? if not then how and why these officers did so? If yes then why some influential and blue eyed are working at their admirable posts for many years? Locals of Poonch, Mandi and Surankote areas have accusingly said that some local officers in health department have made the entire system defunct. They have appealed to Commissioner secretary health, Director Health Jammu to intervene the matter and transfer such officers and further appealed to Lieutenant Governor administration to investigate the matter and take stick action against such officials.
