In a startling revelations revealed by the central government that about 10 ten lacs are drugs addicts in Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This has sent the alarm bells ringing that our UT of JK turning into Udhta Punjab given the revelation made by the central government to a written query of the National conference MP Justice Hasnain Masoodi.

Now, the need has arisen to ascertain as what it led to the unprecedented increase in the consumption of the drugs and the number swells to the whooping number of 10 lacs which is a matter of grave concern. Sooner the government acts the better it would be.

As the drugs have already the eaten the vitals of the society and even claimed the precious lives of the youngsters adding, and this report of the central government has sent shivers down one’s spine that how our UT being fell prone to the drugs and this numbers shows that how our UT of JK being drifted towards the drugs.

Several questions being raised for sympathetic consideration. Drugs which named in the report are of NDPS and which are of serious nature and now there is need to know from where those drugs came from. Who supply those drugs? From Where those drugs reached to the drugs addicts? What the concern Police is doing who otherwise don’t missed the chance in issuing the press notes to the media? Whether this startling figure of ten lacs constrained the government to rise to the occasion and channelize the energy coupled with take effective steps to rap the knuckles of all those who made drugs addicts as they spoil the generations to come?

Time and again it has been reiterated by the government that consumption of drugs is harmful and fatal for the human being adding, even police also organized scores of seminars, programmes in this regard in order to sensitize the public in regards to the drugs consumption. But it’s a sordid saga that our UT being JK turn into a Udhta Punjab rather better to called it as Udhta Jammu and Kashmir.

Now, there is need to ascertain what are those factors which made the UT of JK as Udhta JK adding, psychologists categorically stated that unemployment is the grave factor which takes the youngsters towards the drugs consumption as despite being highly qualified still youths are not being absorbed in the government jobs as such they left to fend for themselves. When the unemployed youths see their counterparts being adjusted in the government jobs they get much perturbed and peeved and under sheer frustration they left with no other option then to consume drugs. Another prime and attenuating factor is the Youngsters not get married which is also the reason that they become drugs addicts adding, in order to kill themselves slowly and gradually so that loneliness which they are facing on account of unmarried being do away with the passage of time.

Parents role is also very important to play in respect of keeping check over their children’s as to whether they fall under depression, stress due to their needs not being fulfilled. What is more important is the society in which the children are sitting and strolling. Because it has been said bad company destroy those who are part of it as due to their liberal approach towards their sweet children’s they have to pay a heavy price later on. Strict vigil requires from the parents in this regard before it’s too late. Sometimes we observed changed in the behaviour of the children’s as they become angry on petty issues, enter into verbal duel with others.

Society as a whole needed to get United to give a challenge to the drugs addicts. It has reported day and day out in the Newspapers that due to the drugs consumption youth died. What is more fatal youth injecting the drugs in their body which is very much dangerous to them and resultant there in they get died when their body become over dose of drugs as such this society as well as government needed to checked upon the same and take coercive measures against all those who dealt in this drug. It has been observed that rich families childrens get much drugs addicts adding, as due to easy available of money they enjoy drugs first with friends but slowly as they become addicted then it would be Herculean task to leave the drugs. Till then drugs done the damage in the body of the drugs addicts. It has been reported that due to the consumption of drugs several families youngsters died sometime due to over dose and in some instances this slow poison kills them which left their families to think as what happened but till then much water has flown down the river Tawi. Drugs de addiction centres also needed to be increased given the ten lacs drugs addicts in order to made drugs free. As per reports there are very less drugs de addiction centre where these drugs addicts would be sent to take de addicted them. Drugs de addiction centre where in doctors concerned makes efforts to made these drugs addicts free from drugs. Government needs to open drugs de addiction centres which is the need of the hour acts before it’s too late. LG Manoj Sinha should ensure that stern measures be taken against the drugs addicts who have made inroads across the UT of JK and in the future this UT of JK can’t become drugs addicts any more otherwise this UT generations will suffer immensely as their youngsters being fell prey to drugs.
