Jammu Police today detained a group of Rohingyas (Myanmar) citizen, who entered illegally into India territory and reached Jammu.
According sources, six Rohingyas detained today by Narwal Police and Channi Himmat Police “Detained Rohingyas have been identified as Mohd Junaid (17), son of Shab Mia and Noor begum, Jasmine Akhtar aged (15) daughter of Shab Mia and Noor begum, Azida daughter of Shab Mia and Noor Begum, Mohd Illyas (21) son of Jahid Alam, Rubina (20) wife of Mohd Illyas and Mujeeb (18) son of Shah Miyan”, the sources said.
These people have been arrested under 14A of Foreigners Act 1946. “On basis of inputs that some illegal immigrants are arriving here in Jammu. The Jammu Police laid Nakas at multiple places and arrested the illegal immigrants”, a senior Police officer said, adding that the arrested persons have impersonated documents, to justify their entry into Indian side but vigil Jammu Police exposed their claims and arrested them.
“A case has been registered against six illegal immigrants, further action will be initiated as per the law”, the Police officer said, adding that it has become a routine affair for them. “Jammu has been a safer place for them, using their religion, they enter Jammu and settled here illegally, but now things are changed everybody has to prove his/her identity”, the officer said, adding that the Jammu Police arresting illegal immigrants very frequently.
