NSF celebrates 126th birth anniversary of Ram Prasad Bismil

National Secular Forum (NSF), University Unit organized a programmed in University Campus, and on the Birth anniversary of Ram Prasad Bismil who laid his life for the country. A programme in this connection was organized wherein Dr Vikas Sharma Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary JKNC was the Chief Guest while TR Sharma KAS (Retd), Presided over the function.

 

Dr Sukhdev Singh State President NSF was the guest of honour. The activists of NSF paid tributes to Ram Prasad Bismil and garlanded the portraits of the son of soil, who laid down his life for the sake of the country.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Vikas Sharma threw light on the life history of Ram Prasad Bismil and appreciated the efforts of NSF and appealed to the youth to come forward to eliminate all evils from the society. Dr. Vikas Sharma expressed that present day youth was frustrated due to lack of job opportunities and neck deep corruption in the recruitment process being followed by the UT administration. He mentioned that people have suffered a lot during the last four years especially after the abrogation of Article 370, bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir and downgraded of State to a Union Territory. He urged the young generation to strengthen the hands of J&K National Conference (JKNC) enabling it to redouble its efforts to get the status of Jammu and Kashmir statehood restored.
While Speaking TR Sharma stressed upon the youth to shun their self-centered outlook and contribute in the development of the nation. He also threw light on the achievements of Bismil who was one of the founding members of the revolutionary organization Hindustan Republican Association. Bhagat Singh praised him as a great poet-writer of Urdu and Hindi, who had also translated the books Catherine from English and Bolshevikon Ki Kartoot from Bengali. Sukhdev Singh State President NSF, in his speech said that the sacrifices of such great people could not be ignored, which had secured freedom for the country and its people. Roshan Sharma University President delivered the welcome address and Vikshay Vashist District President delivered the vote of thanks. Among others who spoke were Sumit Giri, Narinder Singh, Abhishek Uppal, Aditya Khajuria, Tufail Reyaz Khan, Punnet Bakshi, Aditiya sharma, Ankush Babu, and others.
