Aftermath of yesterday’s tragic cloud burst at Shri Amarnath Cave, in which at least 15 persons were killed, many injured and missing, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha this evening convened a high-level meeting, which was attended by Home Secretary, J&K Police Chief, top Army Commander, Air Force Commander and other senior officer of ITBP, BSF, CRPF and others.
“Chaired a high-level meeting earlier today to review the ongoing rescue and relief operation at Shri Amarnathji holy cave. The meeting observed two-minute silence to pay tribute to devotees who lost their lives in unfortunate incident yesterday”, LG Sinha tweets from his official twitter handle @OfficeOfLGJandK.
“Rescue & relief operation is in full swing. Teams from Army, Air Force, CAPFs, NDRF doing commendable job to clear the debris within shortest period of time. I request Yatris to stay put in camps. Administration is providing all facilities for their comfortable stay”, the LG informed masses through another tweet and added, “We are trying our best to restore the Yatra at the earliest.”
