Offensive against terrorists’ activities for decades, the Jammu and Kashmir Police today achieved another success in Doda district, by busting an old hide out from Gandoh area.
Doda Police with Indian Army today recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition hid in suitcase by the terrorists. “On Friday, pursuing specific information, a special Police team led by Inspector Vikram Singh, SHO Police Station Gandoh and troops of 4 RR launched, conducted a joint search operation in forest area of Gandoh and during search an old hideout of militants in Khasodi Chansar forest falling the jurisdiction was busted and arms and explosive material in rusted condition recovered”, Doda Police Spokesperson said.
“One, UBGL Barrel, one UBGL grenade, one RPG shell, 25 electronic detonator, two UBGL Accessories was recovered from the hideout”, the spokesperson said, adding that Gandoh Police have registered a case in this connection.
“The area, wherefrom the arms and explosive material have been recovered is abandoned and entire forest covered area which has remained highly prone to militancy in the past, when the militancy was at its peak in District Doda. The recovered material seems to had been dumped by militants years back during militancy there”, the spokesperson. It is pertinent to mention here that the Jammu Zone have achieved many successes in recent past, by arresting terrorist and their OGWs from Chenab Valley region and the Pir Panjal area.
