Police today arrested a person with heroine and cash around 2 cr rupees from scorpio, near a Petrol pump in Udhampur town.
“The J&K Police in Udhampur district recovered 250 grams of heroin and a of Rs. 1,91,34,030, while on patrolling at National Highway, near Gole Mela Patrol Pump from a Scorpio PB08BS-6219”, said a Police spokesperson, adding that a case has been registered under relevant sections at Police Station Udhampur.
“One person in this connection has been arrested while another one run-over by an unknown vehicle while on run who has been shifted to GMC Jammu where he succumbed to his injuries”, the Police spokesperson said, adding that preliminary investigation reveals that both the persons were involved in the narco trade. It is pertinent to mention here that the district Police in J&K are playing major role in anti-narco operation, as compare the specially created, the Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF). The ANTF’s recoveries remain confine to Charas and Poppy straw in many cases, while the district Police is heavily unearthing the trade of heroine.
