Stickling to its commitment to eradicate the menace of drug from J&K, around two years back formed Anti Narcotics Task Force a wing of J&K Police today arrested five interstate narco-smugglers and seized huge quantity of drugs from Narwal Jammu.

On a specific input, the ANTF team apprehended five narco-dealers and recovered huge quantity of Poppy Husk from a truck which was on its way from Kashmir to Punjab. Acting up the inputs that a truck carrying huge quantity of drugs is coming from Kashmir, ANTF laid nakas at various places at the outskirts of Jammu City.
A truck bearing registration No JK04 9011 and one Alto Car bearing Registration Number DLIC 0205 were intercepted near Transport Yard Narwal Jammu. On thorough checking of the truck, huge quantity of Poppy Husk was recovered. Five narco dealers were arrested from the truck and the car who have been identified as Bashir Ahmed Dar, Javid Ahmed both resident of Kashmir, Dalip Singh, Paramjeet Singh and Hanook Singh trio resident of Punjab.
Total One Quintal and 60 Kgs of Poppy Husk has been recovered which was on its way from Kashmir to Punjab. Whole operation was led by Inspector Varuneshwar Singh and Insp Meenu Sharma of ANTF under close supervision of DySP Arun Jamwal, SHO PS ANTF, Jammu Division.
A case under relevant sections of NDPS Law has been registered. During initial investigation, it has been found that these narcodealers were using fake registration number on truck to dodge the Police.
