Recognising the problems being faced by common masses as more than one hundred posts of Naib Tehsildar laying vacant throughout the UT, Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Doda, Dhanatar Singh Kotwal has sought the intervention of the government to fill these posts without any further delay.
“Respected, Sheleen Kabra IAS, Financial Commissioner Revenue J&K, Jammu, with high expectations and sanguine hope, I am writing to bring to your kind notice that in district Doda most of the posts of Naib Tehsildar in Niabats are vacant and the public of this hilly area are suffering badly due to non-availability of Naib Tehsildars in their respective Niabats. It is therefore requested you that kindly direct the concerned to make the necessary arrangements for Naib Tehsildars to facilitate the general public, with regards Dhanatar Singh Kotwal”, the letter written by Chairperson DDC Doda read.
“The government should undertake an immediate exercise to address critical staff gapping in the state Revenue Department to prevent suffering of common masses due to non-availability of Naib Tehsildar”, sources said, adding that in a bid to fill critical vacancies within the state’s revenue department, an urgent appeal has been made to the Financial Commissioner to expedite the promotion of dedicated Girdawars to the position of Naib Tehsildar.
“A letter, addressed to the Financial Commissioner, highlights the pressing issue of vacant Naib Tehsildar positions, which have adversely impacted the smooth operation of revenue and land administration within the UT of J&K”, sources said, adding that the plea emphasizes the Girdawars’ substantial contributions over time, underlining their eligibility for promotion to the Naib Tehsildar role, supported by their experience, knowledge, and unwavering commitment.
“Promoting these deserving Girdawars to Naib Tehsildar positions not only aims to bridge the staff gap but also promises to boost employee morale and acknowledge their hard work and dedication. The appeal seeks the intervention of the Finance Commissioner to expedite the promotion process, recognizing that this move will significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s revenue and land administration”, the sources said.
Furthermore, it underscores the importance of nurturing and recognizing talent within the organization, they said. This call to action represents a crucial step towards addressing the staff crisis in the revenue department while honoring the dedicated service of the Girdawars who stand ready to take on higher responsibilities. “The UT eagerly awaits a positive response from the Financial Commissioner, signaling the beginning of a new chapter in the efficient administration of revenue and land affairs”, they added.
